Lorelei only produced two fillies in her too-short lifetime. Constrained as we were in suburban California, we had sold her first foal, Lili, anticipating that others would follow. What followed next was a series of colts, all very nice and excellent performance ponies, but no fillies. Lorelei was struck down by acute laminitis at the height of her performance career and never fully recovered. She gave us another colt, then wouldn't settle for three years. We were afraid we were going to lose her lines, so arranged to re-purchase her only intact son, Lancelot. No sooner than he stepped into the van to return from MI, Lorelei checked in foal again. In the Spring of 2008, she blessed us with Lillith, the filly we had been praying for.

In January 2009, Lillith and her dam made the journey from SoCA to our new Oregon farm. She was weaned and turned out with the other youngsters to play and grow up as none of our ponies had been able to do before. She blossomed with the exercise and access to pasture, becoming more like her dam every day. She was shown in youngstock classes, often placing Grand Champion Section A.

In the Spring of 2011, we sent Lillith to Carrie MacWhorter for training under saddle. Although Carrie could not guarantee any classes under saddle due to conflicts with others she was riding, we wanted to begin her performance training as soon as possible, so that she would be ready for granddaughter Haley and grandson Nathan when they were old enough to ride her. Carrie showed her in hand for us, taking her to Tulsa, where the UK judge placed her as the Champion Section A Mare, and at Brookside and the Western Nationals, where she earned her first Reserve Supreme title.

At her first show in May 2012, Lillith made her debut under saddle in both English and Western. By her second show, the expert training and riding of our trainer, Carrie MacWhorter, was obvious. Lillith placed 1st in every performance class, bringing home the A/B English and Western Pleasure division championships, for small ponies at the OWPS Warm-Up Show, and was Reserve Division Champion in both classes at the gold show that followed. With half of the required performance points secured, and five more shows remaining this year, we anticipate that Lillith will complete the requirements for her individual LOM before the end of September in her 4 year old year.
